Skin Clinic and Minor Procedures
Australia is the skin cancer capital of the world, because of our sun exposure. More than 11,500 Australian men and women are diagnosed with a melanoma each year. There are three types of skin cancers; melanomas, squamous carcinomas (SCC's) and basal cell carcinomas (BCC's). The Cancer Council recommends all adults should check their moles regularly. Seeing a Skin Cancer GP and getting an assessment of your risk and how often you should get checked is important, to prevent an unnecessary death from a preventable disease. Phone 34098660 to make a skin appointment.
Ear Microsuction
We tend to see a lot of ear infections in the peak holiday times during the summer months, with people in and out of the water all the time, combined with summer's humidity. We use the ear microscope when appropriate to inspect and thoroughly clean the ear canal to help treat these infections.
Chronic Disease Management & Health Assessments
We are an ageing population, and this comes with a higher burden of chronic disease ( diabetes, heart complaints, arthritis, chronic lung disease). All our doctors are adept at manageing chronic conditions, and you may be eligible for a care plan which will help you access visits to allied health practitioners to support your needs. Health assessments are medicare funded comprehensive health checks available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, and others aged 45-49 years and 75years and over.
Aboriginal Health Checks & We participate in the “Closing the Gap Scheme”
The Close the Gap campaign aims to close the health and life expectancy gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Asutralians within a generation. Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients are entitled to a comprehensive health check and access to the Closing the Gap scheme (subsidised medications etc) on an annual basis.
Mental Health and Counselling
1 in 5 people will experience a mental health concern at some time in their life. It is important to seek help when you feel unable to cope with the stresses of daily life, so that you can get back to working productively and enjoying life to its fullest. You may be eligible for a Mental health Care Plan which entitles you to Medicare rebateable services from a psychologist.
